DEAR ANIMAL FRIENDS!
At the moment (May 2012) we have about 350 dogs and 130 cats in our shelter.
More than 50 dogs and many, many cats are looking for godparents. We also have
many resident Temple Dogs that are looking for a sponsor. The Temple Project
has saved hundreds of lives already and has proven very successful.
The costs for food, vaccinations and medical treatments have become so
high that we need your desperate support to keep this project alive
(more info about our Temple Project under Info & News, Temple project).
If you wish to sponsor a dog or a cat, please look at the photos below and,
if there is no sponsor's name at the end of the text about the dog or cat,
then dog or cat is available for sponsorship. Get it touch with us via E-mail
and let us know the dog or cat you'd like to sponsor.
On our
RAINBOW-Page
you can find all our dogs and cats that have passed away.

SASSY
(weiblich)
Would you like to sponsor me?

Since I was a little puppy I believed that our family was a little strange. We are 6 brothers and sisters and every one of us looks totally different. One is white/brown, one is black, the other has a little beard, another one has quite short hair….a total strange mix! Even our characters are different. I don’t remember where we were born. We were separated from our mother when we were only 8 weeks old, totally mangy and underfed and therefore nobody wanted to adopt us. It looks like we will spend our life here at the shelter- not too bad though but an own family would definitely be a dream!

TOFFEE (female) My sisters Tiggi, Naomi, Waikiki and I came to the DRCS when we already adult cats and therefore it was more difficult for us to settle in than the cats who get here when they are still kittens and don’t know any better. We were both used to running around in an area with no restrictions and no rules and we both thought it was a funny thing to hunt our own meals. Now we are trying to settle in and get used to always having food around.

Would you like to sponsor me? |

SALA
(female)
A really nice Thai family picked me
up from the road after an accident and brought me to the DRCS where I got
great help and everything I needed. Since I'm already quite an old dog and
it looks like I will need mange and other treatment for several months, I
will probably stay here all my life. Also, I do not really have a place to
go back to anyway. The other dogs are actually quite ok and the food is
better than in any other place I've been. So, I guess all in all I'm a
pretty lucky dog. |

Many cats prefer the free and crazy life out there and honestly, I was one of them. But since I came to the DRCS and started sleeping in a real bed, always have some food around, no dog-danger and snuggles here and there, I changed my mind. Especially the tourists are great, they give us never-ending snuggles and often some really nice treats, too. Recently I moved into the cat house at the shelter in Baan Taling Ngam and it's actually just as much fun.

After this really unfriendly hotel manager called the DRCS and told them to better come and pick me up immediately...or...., I landed here at the shelter. I don't like so much and have never really enjoyed the company of the humans. But I'm a strong character and will give my best to somehow fit it. The other dogs here at the shelter aren't too bad and sometimes even fun to play with.

STELLA (female)
Sadi and I were dropped together outside the DRCS-Shelter. Nobody knows where we come from (and like to go back to) and it looks very much like we have to stay here at the shelter for the rest of our lives. The one positive thing is that apparently the DRCS-people are trying to find us a new home in Europe. Wouldn’t that be super!?

BOUTY (female) I am one of the most beautiful cats at the shelter. People always adore my 3-coloured fur and the of course my sporty figure, too. Why nobody has adopted me so far is a bit of a misery to me. I am good looking, get a long with the other cats and love to be petted. Never mind, I’ll keep trying whenever someone comes to visit and maybe one day I will get my own big fancy house.

BARAKO (male)
My name is Barako and I came to the DRCS in Baan Taling Ngam as a puppy so I've grown up there. I was mangy and starving and took a long time to get better. Unfortunately I was too ugly to be adopted as a puppy and when I did get better I was no longer a puppy so no-one wanted me. Now I'm strong healthy and handsome and I like my life. KLOTA (female)
I have been living at the DRCS for so long, I can hardly remember what my story was before I got here. Since 2009 I can call this shelter my home and have no other plans for the future. Now I only need someone who could sponsor me...

PENNY (female)
Please don’t get fooled by that picture, normally I’m a very attractive and happy looking cat. The picture was taken right after I was brought to the shelter and understandably I was still a little confused. I was hit by a car and could hardly believe that after such a crash, I was still able to open my eyes. I am now getting better with every day and have settled well here at the DRCS.

ENZO
(male)
When I was still small, my owners brought me here because I was hit by a motorbike and couldnt walk properly. They told me they would come back for me but when the people at the DRCS tried to contact them to say I could go home, the phone number didnt exist. I've been here since 2011. I don't think they're coming back for me. Would you like to sponsor me? |
